Snuggle Time!

Ellie is our little snuggler. She loves nothing more than laying down next to mom and dad and snuggling right into us. I have to admit, we have spoiled her just a little. She naps in her crib (which is in our room) but snuggles us at night to go to sleep. Being number five and (our last) we seem to be trying to get it all in, for as long as we can. The others left us at four months to share a room which, at the time seemed the only sane thing to do. We needed our sleep and couldn't seem to get it any other way. Yes, Ellie kicks, hits, rolls, fusses, and can't stand the blanket on her but we just can't seem to get enough of the smell of her hair, her pudgy arm curled around our hand, the content look on her face when her head is nuzzled just underneath ours and her head resting on our arm.

Christmas with Cousins

The Reagh's and the Isom's joined us for Christmas this year. We were very excited to have them. We had a fun time visiting, watching videos, ice skating, going to the show and exchanging gifts. Our favorite gift exchange was the white elephant. The favorites were: a Chia Donkey and a Voice Changer.

Ellie followed her cousin Reese around all the time. He wasn't sure about it at first and then I think he actually liked having his own little sidekick.

High School

Last year I attended my 20 year High School Reunion. I hadn't gone to my ten so a long time has passed since I've seen a lot of my classmates. Here are a couple of friends with me. It was fun to see them.
About five months prior to the reunion, I kept feeling impressed to get a hold of a friend of mine from high school that I hadn't talked to since. Well, I kept brushing it off. Mutual friends had let each of us know what the other was up to but we never ended up connecting. Once again, I got this feeling to call her. And once again, I didn't do it. I thought that I would see her at the reunion. She did not attend. I asked about her and another friend told me that she had had plans with her son. After returning home I was able to track down her email address. However, I didn't act right away. I waited until three weeks ago to email her. No response came. Last night I received an email from a classmate telling me that this friend had passed away. I am shocked! I can't help but feel like I should have called the first time I felt so inclined, if only to chat with her and let her know that I have been thinking about her.
She was a very good person, full of life. She always greeted everyone with a genuine, confident smile. Everyone liked her because she was outgoing and friendly to ALL. There was not one person that didn't know her by name at our school. She was the kind of friend that gave a listening ear and had a loving heart. I feel blessed to have had her as a friend. Next time I will not wait to act.

No School

Well, here I am. I didn't think I would get into the blog thing but I am keeping a journal on WORD anyway. I might as well make it cute. I am actually kind of excited to get started. However, I did the same thing with scrapbooking, I started out strong and dedicated and then almost completely stopped after child #3. So, wish me luck and keep me motivated you fellow bloggers out there.

There is no school today and tomorrow! I put an exclamation point because that means I don't have to get up as early or nag my kids as much. It is nice to have a break every once in awhile. My oldest, Austin, went on a trip to Rexburg, Idaho with the Deacons quorum to go to the Rexburg temple Open House. They left at 4:30 a.m. yesterday. I was a little worried because the weather did not look good but they have had a safe drive and all is well - - so far! We gave him our cell phone so that he can call us and keep us updated. He has called us four times already so he must be thinking that he is pretty cool talking on the cell phone. My kids do not leave home very often and so I keep counting my kids and asking myself, "Where is Austin?"
