"ssshhh!"

This post is just between you and me, ok? I don't want my oldest to feel self conscience or ambarrassed but we had a milestone morning. Austin and Alex were getting ready to go on a trip to the temple with the youth in our ward and I felt that Austin needed a haircut and a much needed lesson on how to shave his upper lip. Troy and I have gone back and forth on when would be an appropriate time to let Austin shave. Troy thought that we should wait until he's 14 and I think that his body is growing much faster than the number of years he is. Well, Troy took Luke and Kate fishing early this morning so, this was my opportunity. I really wish that Troy was here to be a part of it but seriously, it needed to be done! I got Troy's shaving cream and razor and showed him what to do. Alex got a kick out of watching and noticed a few spots that we missed. After fixing that, he looked great and a little younger! I think he likes it because he went right over and showed his uncle. "Yeah!" Oh, I decided to let Troy discover it on his own so, "ssshhh!"

Oh, you are so good. When Nate & Drew had their first shave, I was busily taking picture after picture documenting it. I think they would've rather had their dad do it on the down lo. Let us know if Troy discovers it on his own.

WOW, you are brave. I remember when my son shaved, it was a time ti remember. It did how ever grow in a little heavier and darker. I am sure he will remember that day forever, but will his Dad?

Well, Troy noticed but didn't really react much. It didn't bother him either way. I figure he can help him the next time he needs to. I'll let him show Alex how to shave her legs when the time comes! Tee Hee!
