Rise and Shine!

The odds were against us today, late night, early morning meeting, Easter goodies, long hair on all four girls, including mom and church beginning at 8:30 a.m. Kate woke up at 4:00 a.m. exclaiming that she had seen the Easter Bunny and proceeded to tell me that he was grey and in my room. Half awake, I agreed with her and snuggled her up so as not to loose anymore sleep. This worked until 6:00 which is when Troy and I were supposed to be awake but not her. The other kids however, had to be awakened and "encouraged" to come down as soon as possible so that we could start getting ready for church. When it was all said and done, I was on time for my meeting which got out early, came home to relieve Troy of two more heads of hair and got to church with a few minutes to spare. I just can't shake the feeling that these are the times I am going to miss and laugh about the most.

Decorating the eggs yesterday!

While I was preparing sharing time this weekend about the Resurrection, I read the passage in the scriptures about it over and over again. I could feel the truthfulness of this story and felt grateful to have opportunities in my responsibilities at church to grow closer to my Heavenly Father and Savior. You know, it's funny, you never know when your testimony is going to be strengthened. It comes sometimes when we least expect it. I can't imagine not having a calling to keep me stretching and growing.

8:30 am START TIME? That sounds awful. I prefer early morning church but not that early. And everyone looks fabulous for an early morning rising. Isn't Primary the best place to be? I love being in Primary too.

I also have 8:30 church and it's lovely to get out early and have the whole day to myself after that. My very most favorite callings have been in primary. That is where I grew the most and I think I figured out why. Heavenly Father has such a love for his baby children and blesses us with the ability to reach them in ways we can only stand in awe of. I think that is where the roots begin to grow and they need to be strong enough to stand firm when they get older. It's harder and harder to keep kids active now with all they have to endure at such young ages. I know what you mean though. We get blessed through service, especially to the kids I think. I sure love my nursery calling!!!
