Wow, it has been awhile! Did anyone catch the American Idol finale last night? Well, I did because I have been addicted to this season. There, I said it. I have been amazed by the talent and drive of these contestants. It was David Archuleta (who is my personal favorite) and David Cook, the rocker. (My favorite rocker was Michael Johns, I think his elimination was a conspiracy!) First of all, these two are as different as night and day. I think they should both win but, there can only be one winner. This is where I am torn because I don't know if I want my favorite to win. He is 17, has been very sheltered and is very shy. Being the mom that I am, I hate to see him thrown out into the world for all to critique and ridicule. He has a pure, amazing voice and showed that he really wanted to win last night with his performances. However, there is David Cook who has gradually become the fans favorite. He is 25, talented and original. His voice does nothing for me but he has proven that he is more than just a singer, he changes his songs up and makes them hits week after week. Now, with that said, I have to give kudo's to David Archuleta because he amazes me. He has had a lot of ridicule by the critics heaped on him and Simon Cowell even went on two shows, right before the finale and said that David Cook should win. Well, I for one would have felt defeated after such a statement and I am 39. But, not David, he gave it his all tonight and won over all the judges, including Simon. You could see the determination in his face and his performance. What an inspiration. Ok, I am getting a little sappy but I can't help it. Anyway, It will be interesting to see who wins tonight. I can't wait! I wish them both luck in the future!

I hear you sister. I am a complete DA fan. I was disappointed with the results tonight, but I think that I will still buy anything that Archuleta produces. And, I will admit to you, my fellow Idol fan, that I vote! I think that I voted about 12 times last night for DA.
I too have been a complete american idol watching addict! I too wanted David A. I pretty much live in his hometown now! I saw both talk shows where Simon said David C. was going to win - rude! David A. is so cute but I agree that he is a little young and struggles a bit with the publicity. I too think David Cook is quite talented. After the results, I was happy for him, he seems really nice and I think they will both be successful! It was exciting! My favorite was also Michael Johns as far as the rocker type! He is a doll and I like his voice a lot! It was crazy when he got voted off! Anyways I am rambling on and on. Can you tell I'm an addict? Maybe we'll discuss it more at the reunion ;), ha ha!
